
Actress Chae Seo An is in talks to star in another K-drama led by IU.
On June 12, media outlets reported that Chae Seo An's next K-drama project will be the upcoming series Wife of a 21st Century Prince.
The actress's agency, Blitzway Entertainment, responded to the casting reports. According to them, "Chae Seo An received the offer to star in Wife of a 21st Century Prince, and she is positively reviewing the offer."
If Chae Seo An decides to join the new series, this will be her second time to star in a K-drama led by IU.
Wife of a 21st Century Prince will showcase the happenings in a 21st-century constitutional monarchy in Korea. The K-drama will tell the romance between two royals: a conglomerate heiress frustrated with her "commoner" status and the son of a king, whose life is transformed after meeting her.
IU, Byeon Woo Seok, Steve Noh, and Gong Seung Yeon are the confirmed main leads.
Chae Seo An got the offer to portray the role of IU's character Seong Hui Ju's sister in law. She also comes from a noble family.
The upcoming K-drama is the collaboration work of director Park Joon Hwa (Alchemy of Souls, What's Wrong with Secretary Kim, and Because This Is My First Life) and writer Yoo A In.
Wife of a 21st Century Prince is in the midst of filming. The K-drama will reportedly air in the first half of 2026, and it will exclusively premiere on the broadcast channel MBC.
This year, Chae Seo An made a special appearance in the hit Netflix original K-drama When Life Gives You Tangerines, led by IU. She starred as the younger version of Yeong Ran in the series.
