Jisoo's acting skills controversy: 'Omniscient Reader' director breaks silence
Netflix has set the release of its original K-movie Wall to Wall for July 18.
Wall to Wall follows Woo Sung (Kang Ha Neul), an ordinary salaried employee who manages to purchase his own home — an 84-square-meter apartment — only to be tormented by a mysterious noise from upstairs.
The Korean title 84 Square Meters refers to the most common and standard apartment size in South Korea, and symbolically reflects the realities of the Korean real estate market.
The teaser poster portrays towering apartment buildings densely packed into the frame. Standing against this backdrop is Woo Sung, wearing a bewildered expression as if confronted by an unexpected turn of events — raising anticipation over what might befall someone who poured his entire soul and savings into buying a home.
Through the apartment windows, glimpses of neighbors suspicious and warily eyeing each other hint at the unsettling tensions brewing due to the strange noise. The text reads, "A life of debt of endless noise. Am I to blame?" suggests Woo Sung's fleeting joy of owning a house is cut short as he's accused of being the source of the disturbance.
The teaser begins with a cheerful rendition of "Anthem of Seoul" playing over the narration: "Congratulations on buying your own home!" Woo Sung has managed to purchase an 84-square-meter apartment by pooling everything from his staff loan, severance pay, the deposit from his old studio apartment, and even his mother's garlic field, and is overjoyed by his hopeful and happy new life of owning a house.
But the joy is short-lived. Each night, a strange thudding noise from above begins to torment him, and that marks the beginning of Woo Sung's harrowing days. As the screen card displays, "Everyone suspects me", the apartment dwellers point to Woo Sung as the culprit behind the noise, and his life starts to spiral out of control.
Adding fuel to the fire are suspicious neighbors: Eun Hwa (Yeom Hye Ran), the cynical resident representative who smirks and warns, "We can't allow any ruckus in this complex," and Jin Ho (Seo Hyeon Woo), the upstairs neighbor who comes to Woo Sung, asking, "Mind if I take a look inside?" as he searches for the source of the sound.
The teaser comes to a conclusion with someone saying, "Do you know about the murder in the next complex?".
