MBC's new crime K-drama Mary Kills People is set to premiere on August 1.
Mary Kills People tells the story of a doctor who illegally assists in the deaths of terminally ill patients and a detective who pursues her.
The teaser begins with the lights of a dark operating room suddenly turning bright, revealing Woo So Jung (Lee Bo Young) focused intently on treatment, surrounded by numerous surgical tools. This is followed by the phrase "I am a doctor".
Then, her grave expression as she heads toward the emergency room is followed by the agonized look of a patient.
The mood then shifts as Woo So Jung and Choi Dae Hyun (Kang Ki Young) appear calm, looking out for someone sitting among the rocks by the seaside. In response to the question "How long does it take?", Woo So Jung replies, "It usually ends in an instant."
The screencards read "To some, a savior" and "To others, a murderer". Concluding, a statue of the Virgin Mary, gentle and solemn, is shown, and as a man's voice calls out "Maria," Woo So Jung responds with "I'm no longer Maria," as she looks ahead with determination in her eyes.
The production team stated, "Through the teaser, we wanted to capture the unique color of Mary Kills People, a story unlike anything seen before," adding, "Please look forward to Mary Kills People, which will not only showcase the solid acting of the cast but also deliver a new appeal of suspense dramas."
