New Korean horror movie Noise is coming soon.
Noise is a horror thriller that follows Joo Young (Lee Sun Bin), who searches for her younger sister, who went missing from an apartment complex.
On June 16, a press conference for the K-movie was held at Megabox COEX in Seoul. Director Kim Soo Jin, Lee Sun Bin, and Kim Min Seok were in attendance.
Lee was asked how she would like to be remembered through this movie. She replied, drawing attention, "I was thinking about what nickname might fit, without giving any spoilers, and rather than anything else, the phrase 'inter-floor noise exterminator' came to mind."
She continued, "The reason I thought of that is because when people think of noise between floors, I hope they think of Noise, and when they think of Noise, I hope they recall the film's story." She added, "For marketing purposes, there was an image combining scenes from the movie with text about eliminating noise between floors. I hope it becomes a meme. It would be nice if Noise comes up as a meme whenever horror genres, frightening situations, or inter-floor noise are talked about."
Kim Min Seok shared his experience: "I saw a lot of frightening things while shooting. We filmed in the basement of an apartment building. We shot surrounded by real trash mixed with piles of garbage created by the art team, and it was terrifying. Filming amid the stench from the septic tank also felt so real that it was chilling." He added, "When I lay down to sleep at the lodging, the scenes from filming kept flashing before me. I was so scared that I even took sleeping pills to fall asleep."
Noise is coming to theaters this June 25.
