
Disney+ original series Low Life has confirmed its release for July 16.
Set against the backdrop of 1977 Korea, the story follows the cunning and hardworking villagers who gather to seize a sunken treasure ship in the sea.
The K-drama is directed by Kang Yoon Sung (The Outlaws), and the screenplay is written by Yoon Tae Ho (Misaeng: Incomplete Life).
Ryu Seung Ryong portrays Oh Gwan Seok, the leader of the villagers gathered to dig for the treasure off Sinan's coast. Yang Se Jong transforms into Oh Hee Dong, Gwan Seok's nephew, who joins the quest for treasure. Lim Soo Jung comes as Yang Jeong Suk, the boss of Heungbaek Industries, skilled in managing money.
Additionally, veteran actors, including Kim Eui Sung, Kim Sung Oh, Hong Ki Joon, Jang Gwang, Kim Jong Soo, Woo Hyun, Lee Dong Hwi, U-Know, Im Hyung Joon, Lee Sang Jin, Kim Min, also join the cast.
The poster's tagline reads, "In 1977, greed runs deeper than the ocean," paired with the image of a boat adrift on the vast ocean and people floating nearby.
The series is expected to portray human desire and greed through characters chasing fortune.
Low Life will release 3 episodes on July 16, followed by 2 episodes each on July 23, July 30, August 6, and August 13, for a total of 11 episodes.
