Wi Ha Joon, during an interview for Squid Game Season 3, shared how the K-drama changed his life, how he cannot stand injustice, and more.

Squid Game Season 3 follows Gi Hun (Lee Jung Jae), who reenters the game with a purpose of his own and ends up losing his closest friend; the Front Man (Lee Byung Hun), who infiltrated the game concealing his identity.

Talking about what change the K-drama brought in his life, the actor said, "In the past, I had to struggle and work hard to land roles through auditions, but after Squid Game, I get to choose my projects," and added, "There are now many people who recognize me."

He continued, "My family quietly waited for me and supported me, hoping that I would grow as an actor and one day be recognized, and now I've been able to give them a sense of reward," adding, "The pressure and sense of responsibility have grown, but through that journey, I've matured mentally as well. I think I've changed a lot, both as a person and as an actor."

He also shared, "I had no trouble understanding Jun Ho. Ever since I was young, I've had this strange tendency to meddle. I couldn't stand injustice. Now, because of my job as an actor, I try to be more cautious, but if I were to witness something [wrong] in front of me, I think I'd still step in," he confessed.

"Back in school, I even stood up against toxic senior-junior culture [among students]. I got into fights with kids who bullied others. When I wasn't famous, I once dragged a strange man out of the subway." He also emphasized, "The world can be a scary place, and trying to help might even make you [look like] a perpetrator. But I still believe you shouldn't just walk away."

He playfully added, "I thought [at least one] story of my good deeds would have been shared by now, so I'm a bit disappointed," evoking laughter.
