Yoon Kye Sang aims to lead a struggling rugby team to victory in 'The Winning Try'

The Winning Try unveiled a second teaser.

The Winning Try tells the story of Joo Ga Ram (Yoon Kye Sang), a disgraced rugby player who fell from grace due to doping, returning as the coach of a high school's rugby team. The series portrays the inspiring journey of troublemaker Joo Ga Ram and the lowest-ranked rugby team of Hanyang Physical Education High School as they work toward winning the national championship. 

The teaser shows the Hanyang High School rugby team suffering a humiliating defeat. The team players, thrashed on the field, hang their heads in shame for the crushing loss. Then comes Joo Ga Ram, former rugby star and Asian Cup MVP. However, he isn't welcomed by all. Yoon Seong Jun (Kim Yo Han), the captain of the rugby team, rejects him, saying, "No. I don't accept you as our coach." 

The troublemaking rugby team and the eccentric coach Joo Ga Ram heighten anticipation for their wild and chaotic dynamics.

When the vice principal declares, "The rugby team is finished!" Joo Ga Ram delivers a sharp retort: "Aren't you ashamed of picking on kids like that?". His grin stands in stark contrast to his counterattack, signaling the beginning of a rebellious upheaval that's poised to upend the existing order.

The coach confesses: "I ruined my career all by myself. But these kids haven't even started yet." Inside the locker room, he and the rugby team —  united as one — stand determined to win all the way to the national championship. His narration, "Just wait and see. That potential — we'll show it to you," sets the stage for a thrilling comeback.

The Winning Try is scheduled to premiere on July 25. The K-drama will be released on Netflix. Watch the teaser here.
