The JTBC law drama Beyond the Bar is currently in discussions for a second season.
According to a report by South Korean media outlet Xports News, the JTBC drama Beyond the Bar is expected to return with a new season.
On April 1, responding to the report, the production company SLL stated, "We are in the stage of discussing the production of Season 2, but specific details such as the schedule and cast have not yet been confirmed."
Beyond the Bar is an office drama about Hyo Min (Jung Chae Yeon), a rookie lawyer at the Yulim Law Firm who is righteous and determined but inexperienced in social life. The story follows her journey of growth as she clashes with Yoon Seok Hoon (Lee Jin Wook), a partner attorney at Yulim Law Firm.
The K-drama first aired in August last year and concluded in September. It also recorded a nationwide viewership rating of 9.1%, its highest, and had single-digit viewership throughout its run. Actors Lee Jin Wook, Jung Chae Yeon, Lee Hak Joo, and Jeon Hye Bin played four lawyers in the litigation team.
The K-drama is directed by Kim Jae Hong (Through the Darkness, Revenant, Flex X Cop) with the script from Park Mi Hyeon.
