The Netflix series The WONDERfools has confirmed its release date for May 15 and unveiled a poster and teaser.

Set in 1999, an era gripped by fears of apocalypse, The WONDERfools tells the story of a group of bumbling locals who, after an unexpected incident, acquire superpowers and take on villains threatening the peace of Haeseong City.

The teaser portrays the goofy crew of Haeseong City, who accidentally gain superpowers. A voiceover says, "I think there's something wrong with all of us," Chae Ni (Park Eun Bin) is seen dancing — true to her reputation as one of Haeseong City's strangest persons — ignoring stares and going her own way.

Next, Woon Jung (Cha Eun Woo) pulling a book through the air, Kyung Hoon (Choi Dae Hoon) unable to detach a phone stuck to his hand, and Ro Bin (Im Sung Jae) tearing a car door apart as if it were paper all heighten curiosity about how these characters, who have gained superpowers, will end up using them. In particular, Kyung Hoon and Ro Bin — clearly unaccustomed to their abilities — appear flustered by their situation.

Lastly, the bright and cheerful Chae Ni and Ro Bin volunteering at city hall, alongside the reluctant-looking Kyung Hoon and the bewildered Woon Jung, raise anticipation for their chemistry while also teasing the lighthearted humor of The WONDERfools.

The WONDERfools is coming May 15, only on Netflix.
