MBC unveils new stills from Perfect Crown featuring IU.
Perfect Crown follows Seong Hee Joo (IU), a chaebol heiress who has everything except a royal status, and Prince Yi An (Byeon Woo Seok), the king's son who, despite being a royal, cannot have anything, as they set out on a journey to carve their destinies, defying the social statuses that confine them.
In the drama, IU plays Seong Hee Joo, the CEO of Castle Beauty. Born as the illegitimate child in the Castle Group family, Seong Hee Joo has glamorous looks, exceptional intelligence, a fierce competitive spirit, and even management skills that won her the Best Entrepreneur Award. If there is anything she lacks despite seeming to have nothing to envy, it is only her status as a commoner. But in the constitutional monarchy of Korea — where the yanban (nobility) still holds power — that is a weakness that holds down even the rich.
To overcome these societal barriers, Seong Hee Joo makes a grand plan to enter into a contract marriage with Prince Yi An, a royal beloved by the people of Korea. Will Seong Hee Joo, who stops at nothing to achieve what she sets her mind to, be able to realize her grand goal?
