Chinese sci-fi movie 'The Decisive Moment', starring Wu Lei and Shen Yue, confirms premiere
Lee Sang Yi has shared thoughts and insights into his A Bona Fide Killer character.
A Bona Fide Killer is a drama about Yoo Bo Na (Kong Hyo Jin), a working mother with the most dangerous job in the world, who struggles to balance her work and family life.
Lee Sang Yi plays Lee Dong Jin, a lieutenant in Violent Crimes Team 2 of the Criminal Investigation Division at Nambu Police Station. An ace detective who consistently ranks among the top in arrest rates and persistently on the trail of Kingfisher, Lee Dong Jin leads the investigation with an unwavering belief that criminals must face justice through the law.
Lee Sang Yi explained why he chose to star in A Bona Fide Killer, saying, "Since it's based on a webtoon, I already knew who the culprit is from the start, but I still found the gripping suspense of the story very enjoyable."
He also shared how he approached his character, saying, "I usually joke around a lot, but Dong Jin is a serious and composed character, so I constantly kept that in mind. Since he's someone who's wanted to catch Kingfisher for a long time, I wanted him to come across as if Kingfisher was always on his mind even in his everyday life."
When asked to describe Lee Dong Jin with a few keywords, Lee Sang Yi chose "black wolf," "mole," and "tenacity."
He explained, "Dong Jin often wears black, and I think the way he prepares for and relentlessly goes after Kingfisher resembles a wolf. Also, the way he constantly digs into cases reminds me of a mole, and tenacity is an indispensable part of who Dong Jin is."
Lee Sang Yi also spoke about how similar he is to his character, saying, "Just as Dong Jin steadfastly pursues his goal of capturing Kingfisher with his own hands, I think we're alike in our determination to set a goal and keep pushing toward it until the end."
Lastly, Lee Sang Yi described A Bona Fide Killer as a drama that blends action, chase, family, and romance genres. He added, "I think it's a very entertaining and fresh series. Everyone worked hard and had a great time preparing and filming it, so I hope you'll give it lots of love. Please tune in and see whether I'll be able to catch Kingfisher."
