Netflix has unveiled fresh teasers for its upcoming horror K-drama If Wishes Could Kill.

If Wishes Could Kill tells the story of high school students who are suddenly foretold of their deaths after being cursed by a wish-granting app called Girigo. The story follows them as they desperately struggle to escape the curse.

At first glance, the main poster appears to portray an ordinary classroom. However, the chilling aura emanating from the five expressionless students creates an unsettling sense of tension. As a red glow from the phones of Se Ah (Jeon So Young) and Na Ri (Kang Mi Na) catches the eye, the phone placed in front of Ha Jun (Hyun Woo Seok) displays the screen of the deadly wish-granting app Girigo.

Moreover, a mysterious female student sitting alone while holding a phone at the back of the classroom further amplifies the uniquely eerie vibe.

The trailer opens with Hyung Wook, who unexpectedly receives a perfect score, proudly introducing the app Girigo to his friends. The app grants wishes when the user writes their birth details and name on paper first, records a video making a wish, and presses send.

As Geon Woo and Hyung Wook make wishes, they receive a notification saying, "Your wish has been granted." Then, a timer in the app begins the countdown. Following, strange and inexplicable phenomena begin to occur, and scenes show students drenched in fear.

Ha Jun's remark that the timer cannot be stopped, combined with the tagline "The timer of death begins", intensifies the anxiety over what will happen when the time reaches zero. Then, Na Ri, shouting in anger, "What, is the app possessed by a ghost?", further heightens tension.

This is followed by Seo Ah running through the school in darkness in fear and scenes of the shamans performing a ritual, foreshadowing the group's desperate struggle to break the curse of Girigo.

If Wishes Could Kill premieres on April 24, only on Netflix.
