'Study Group' actress Han Ji Eun is under fire for alleged animal abuse

Actress Han Ji Eun is receiving criticism due to alleged pet abuse.

Han Ji Eun recently guested on the MBC entertainment program Omniscient Interfering View, wherein she showcased her life behind the scenes with her manager. She also introduced to viewers her pet lizard named Moni. However, instead of praise, Han Ji Eun got criticized by many for the appearance of her pet lizard. Many raised suspicions of abuse of the pet as the lizard was seen to be too thin. 

On September 15, Han Ji Eun's agency, Gram Entertainment, finally spoke out with all the allegations. The agency clarified, "Han Ji Eun recently adopted her pet lizard, Moni, from an acquaintance. Moni is doing well with no health problems and is also getting her health checked regularly. We will continue to pay close attention. Thank you for your concern and interest."

Meanwhile, 2025 has been a busy year for Han Ji Eun. She starred in the K-dramas When the Stars Gossip, Study Group, and Love Is for the Dogs. She also appeared in the film Hitman 2 with Kwon Sang Woo, Jung Joon Ho, Lee Yi Kyung, Hwang Woo Seul Hye, and Lee Ji Won.

Last month, she also starred in the movie Only God Knows Everything with Shin Seung Ho, Park Myung Hoon, Jeon So Min, Yoo Sung Joo, and Lee Ji Hyun.

Next year, Han Ji Eun will reprise her role in Study Group Season 2 with NU'EST Hwang Min Hyun. She will also star in the upcoming K-drama Notes from the Last Row with Choi Min Sik, Choi Hyun Wook, Jin Kyung, Huh Joon Ho, and Kim Yoon Jin. 

Han Ji Eun is best known for starring in the K-dramas Nothing Uncovered, Stock Struck, Bad and Crazy, Lovestruck in the City, Kkondae Intern, Be Melodramatic, and more.
