4 Jdramas to See Before You Die
Currently Watching: Last Cinderella

If you have been struggling with Japanese dramas like I have, then I think this new drama will help get you back into it. Well it saved me and it’s called Last Cinderella.

Sakura works at a salon as a hairdresser and has Rintaro as her new boss. One day her friends Shima and Miki bring her to a party where she meets Hiroto and falls for him. (Who didn’t see that coming?) Now if you were expecting a love triangle or maybe square it seems that the writers want you to possibly think it could happen with all the potential candidates. They lie to us about who it could be and who it couldn't, but they slowly tell you what’s really going on in everyone's head and why.

I can look past all the weirdness and cougarness to see a possibility for a great storyline. The love square between four of the characters doesn't really get interesting until about half way through the drama. As I watch this I think ‘how far are they going to put this?’ Or ‘how dumb’ but they manage to somehow make it for the ‘I saw that coming’. I love Ryoko Shinohara as Sakura and her teenage reaction to Hiroto is cute and oddly disturbing, but to make up for it they put in Rintaro and give her what they called an old man act. She’s free and content to be her real self around him and that balances out in the end.

Why Should You Watch It?
If you think what sets this story apart from other Japanese dramas in all honesty I would say not much. They follow the typical drama line but they do add extras to make it a bit different. What they give us is a funny yet dramatic look at how older women act and how ridiculous it is to have these multiple as hidden story-line that connects characters together in a different way. All in all this is a good drama that everyone should give a chance, SO GO WATCH IT NOW.
