The story of Unveil: Jadewind begins on what should have been a joyous Lantern Festival night. In the bustling city of Chang'an, as people celebrated, a shocking incident shattered the joy of the evening — Princess Ning Yuan was found mysteriously dead. The Tang Palace was engulfed in darkness, leaving the dignitaries in shock and the court in a state of panic. The task of unraveling this mystery falls on Li Pei Yi (Bai Lu) of the Inner Court Bureau. Braving numerous dangers, she embarks on this perilous journey unhesitatingly, along with her partner in this investigation, Xiao Huai Jin (Wang Xing Yue) from the Astronomy Bureau.
A series of mysterious incidents soon follows. As they dig deep into the mysteries happening in the Tang Palace, they also come close to the buried truth behind the massacre of Pei Yi's family fifteen years ago, and the mastermind hiding behind the curtains.
The trailer begins with a voiceover saying, "The root of all cases boils down to one word: desire." Li Pei Yi is seen wearing a solemn expression while clad in a white robe.
The following scene shows a man and a woman, dressed in red, like a bride and groom, being carried, with flowers being showered on their path. A woman's chirpy voice taunts, "Buried alive, the resentment runs deep," and "Pin her with peachwood nails."
Li Pei Yi steps forward, declaring, "I'll take the case," flaunting her confidence in her ability to crack mysteries, no matter what it takes. As she begins her investigations, she joins hands with Xiao Huai Jin — meticulous, with a razor-sharp memory.
As the duo go further deep, forces of darkness surround them. Meanwhile, Li hasn't let go of the tragedy that happened a long time ago, as she says, "Fifteen years ago, my family was wiped out."
As they pursue the cases, they find themselves in perilous, life-or-death situations. But despite the dangers, Li decides to go all in for the truth, declaring, "If my life buys the truth, it's worth it," heightening anticipation for the secrets she and her partner will unearth, and the string of Tang palace mysteries awaiting them.
