Kim Hye Joon to possibly star alongside Kang Ha Neul in new medical drama
Bloodhounds Season 2 premiered on Netflix on April 3 to huge popularity. According to FlixPatrol, the series is on the OTT's Top 10 in over 90 countries (at the time of writing), including Australia, Brazil, Egypt, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Japan, Jordan, Kuwait, Mexico, New Zealand, Nigeria, Oman, Peru, the Philippines, Sweden, Switzerland, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States, and Vietnam, among others.
Bloodhounds follows two young boxers who take down a powerful loan shark. Returning with Season 2, it is now set against the backdrop of a global underground boxing league, where Geon Woo (Woo Do Hwan) and Woo Jin (Lee Sang Yi) face off against Baek Jeong (Rain).
First released in 2023, Bloodhounds thrilled audiences worldwide with its intense action, as two young boxers faced off against illegal loan sharks with nothing but their fists. The series returned for a second season, promising a grander scale and intense action.
Apart from its immense popularity, Season 2's cameos from Ryu Soo Young, Park Seo Joon, DEX, and Lee Seol have also been making headlines.
Ryu Soo Young comes as Do Young, a reliable senior to Gun Woo and Woo Jin and the right-hand man of Choi (Heo Jun Ho), the legendary loan shark from Season 1.
Director Jason Kim stated, "Do Young has lived in seclusion, burdened by the guilt of being unable to protect the people he loved, yet he has always been ready to step in whenever he is needed. Seeing Do Young fight alongside Gun Woo and Woo Jin as a comrade, instead of a mentor and teacher, also signifies their growth."
Meanwhile, the black-agent trio Choi Shin Hyung, Han Seul Gi, and Ahn Seo, played by Park Seo Joon, Dex, and Lee Seol, also stole the show. Park Seo Joon previously worked with director Kim in the film Midnight Runners.
Director Kim expressed, "These were special characters that relied entirely on the actors' charisma and aura, without a big storyline. I'm grateful that all three actors gladly participated."
Gong Myung, Ryu Kyung Soo, Ha Young, and Jo Hyun Jae also made appearances.
Gong Myung portrayed Dong Hyun, a taekwondo athlete offering warm support to Geon Woo, while Ryu Kyung Soo drew attention as the calm and composed Detective Choi. Ha Young came as Nurse Yoon, and Jo Hyun Jae made a cameo as Myung Hwan, a member of Cheongsolhoe, an elite police academy group.
Bloodhounds Season 2 is streaming on Netflix.
