Kim Hye Joon to possibly star alongside Kang Ha Neul in new medical drama
The TV Chosun-Coupang Play-Amazon Prime Video weekend drama Confidence Queen, starring Park Min Young, has changed its domestic broadcast time.
On September 15, TV Chosun made a post on its official social media channel, stating, "The broadcast time of TV CHOSUN weekend mini-series Confidence Queen has been changed," adding, "It will air every Saturday and Sunday at 10:30 p.m. [KST]! Please take note for watching."
Considering the K-drama's low ratings of 1.1% for episode 1, 1.48% for episode 2, 1.0% for episode 3, and 0.9% for episode 4, the change in broadcast time seems to be an attempt to avoid direct competition with high-rated shows and attract a larger audience.
In particular, tvN's Saturday–Sunday drama Bon Appetit, Your Majesty, starring Lim Yoon A and Lee Chae Min, which has been airing during the same time as Confidence Queen's previous timeslot (9:10 p.m.), saw its ratings skyrocket to 15.4% for episode 8, gaining explosive popularity. As a result, it is speculated that TV Chosun has decided to avoid head-to-head competition with highly rated shows.
Episode 5 of Confidence Queen will air on September 20 (Saturday), stream it on Prime Video. Episode 9 of Bon Appetit, Your Majesty will air on September 20 (Saturday), stream it on Netflix.
