Jung Eun Chae takes on a new challenge with Honour.
Honour is a law drama that follows three female lawyers — Yun Ra Yeong (Lee Na Young), Kang Sin Jae (Jung Eun Chae), and Hwang Hyeon Jin (Lee Chung Ah) — working at L&J Law Firm as they confront the past head-on after it returns as a huge scandal.
Kang Shin Jae is the CEO of L&J (Listen & Join), a law firm specializing in defending women crime victims. Jung Eun Chae, the actress playing her, defined her as a "Leader."
She explained, "I believe a good leader is someone who is the embodiment of 'heart burning [with passion] and cool mind.' Kang Shin Jae is someone with the generosity and magnanimity to sincerely embrace the weak and the strength to never yield to the strong."
Regarding the decisive reason she chose Honour as her next project, she said, "There was the production team's faith in me. They trusted me as an actress and waited for me. The criteria and direction for selecting projects change slightly over time, but for this one, the reason was the people making Honour together with me."
This also ties to the appeal of the project itself. "The opponents the three lawyers must fight and endure to protect honor are people, but those they rely on and love are, in the end, also people."
Kang Shin Jae's conviction in establishing a law firm for those marginalized by the legal system mirrors her decision to break free from the shadow of her family — a line of law professionals spanning three generations. Because of this, she clashes with her mother and chooses a tougher path. Jung Eun-chae expressed that she wants to encourage her by saying, "Since you've started, see it through to the end."
She continued, "Although I do feel sympathy for her choosing a more arduous and difficult path, I believe that for Kang Shin Jae, this is likely the choice that suits her best, and I want to offer her endless support."
Concluding, Jung Eun Chae said, "Honour, filmed from the sweltering heat of summer through the cold of winter, is a drama with both warmth and cold. At times, you may feel the helplessness of humans, and at other times, their dignity. I hope viewers can let themselves be carried by the story and enjoy it."
