Oh Jung Se has shared character insights in a short interview for We Are All Trying Here.

The production team of JTBC's upcoming Saturday–Sunday drama We Are All Trying Here released an interview with Oh Jung Se, who plays the role of Park Gyeong Se. Oh Jung Se expressed confidence, saying, "Even watching up to just episode 2, you'll find yourself recommending it to those around you."

We Are All Trying Here follows the journey of aspiring director Hwang Dong Man (Koo Kyo Hwan), who, being the only one who hasn't debuted among a group of accomplished friends, is driven to anguish and madness by envy and jealousy. The story is centered on the struggles of him and others as they try to find peace.

The K-drama stars Koo Kyo Hwan, Go Youn Jung, Oh Jung Se, Kang Mal Geum, and Park Hae Joon, among others.

Oh Jung Se described Park Gyeong Se as "an adult who is still growing," and introduced him as "a character who appears successful but constantly strives to prove his worth, either to climb higher or to avoid falling from where he currently stands." "Every line [dialogue] of Park Gyeong Se is precious, so I had a strong desire to deliver them exactly as written. I felt like that compulsion was pushing me, so I tried to perform about 98% of them as intended."

We Are All Trying Here reunites Oh Jung Se with director Cha Young Hoon. Oh Jung Se expressed, "I was grateful and felt at ease to meet a director with whom I had worked on a good project before." He continued, "On set this time as well, he firmly held the center while allowing the actors to perform freely."

The dynamics between Hwang Dong Man (Koo Kyo Hwan), a director who has been struggling to make his debut for 20 years, and Park Gyeong Se, who feels anxious even when things go well, are both a source of entertainment and a display of characters fighting their sense of worthlessness. Beneath it lies the desire not to let the other see their own insecurity.

Oh Jung Se pointed out, "The world sees Hwang Dong Man as a character with an inferiority complex, but Park Gyeong Se actually thinks of him as 'another version of himself.'" He continued, "They cheer for one another while also feeling envious [of each other] — an indispensable relationship. That's why Hwang Dong Man is an 'OK cut' in Park Gyeong Se's life."

He also did not forget to mention the chemistry with his fellow members of the 8-member group. "It was so real, as if actual directors had been brought together, so I was able to comfortably enjoy every scene," he said.

Talking about Kang Mal Geum, who plays his wife and the CEO of the production company Gobak Film, Go Hye Jin, he expressed deep respect and said, "It was a very precious experience to feel emotions beyond what I had imagined while reading the script at my desk. I often came across raw emotions that can only be experienced on set."

Lastly, Oh Jung Se expressed strong confidence, saying, "Even after watching up to just episode 2, you'll find yourself recommending this drama to someone," and added, "If time allows, how about binge-watching We Are All Trying Here?"

We Are All Trying Here is set to premiere on April 18 and is reported to stream on Netflix.
