On March 21, "#pursuitofjadeleak" and similar keywords trended on Weibo's search. Many netizens reported that all 40 episodes of the currently airing costume drama Pursuit of Jade had been leaked.

Pursuit of Jade premiered simultaneously on Tencent Video and iQIYI on March 6. The series is currently updated to episode 30 (March 21) on iQIYI and Tencent Video. However, according to reports shared by Chinese netizens, all 40 episodes of the series have already been leaked, including highlight scenes such as "executing the Prince of Changxin" and "Xie Zheng defying an imperial decree to refuse a marriage."

A Red Star News reporter searched for "Pursuit of Jade full series" on an online shopping platform and found that many sellers were offering it for sale, with prices ranging from a few mao to three or four yuan. One seller claimed that the content was authentic and in high-definition quality.

In response to the leak, on March 22, the official Weibo account of Pursuit of Jade issued a statement, stating that pirated content has seriously disrupted the normal broadcast order of the series, infringed upon the legitimate rights and interests of the producers and broadcasting platforms, and caused harm to both creators and viewers. The statement read that while strongly condemning and firmly opposing piracy, they will investigate the source of the pirated content and reserve the right to pursue criminal liability and claim compensation for losses. At the same time, the statement also urged viewers to watch Pursuit of Jade through legitimate broadcasting platforms, and not to purchase, watch, or distribute any pirated content, nor click on links from unknown sources.

Pursuit of Jade, led by Zhang Ling He and Tian Xi Wei, is currently airing to popularity back home. The C-drama is also trending on Netflix, mostly in Asian countries. Stream Pursuit of Jade on Netflix, WeTV, iQIYI, and iflix.
