Reasons To Enjoy Resident Playbook

A Story Revolving Only Around Residents
The drama follows first-year obstetrics and gynecology residents at Jongno Yulje Hospital—Oh Yi Young (Go Youn Jung), Pyo Nam Kyung (Shin Si Ah), Um Jae Il (Kang You Seok), and Kim Sa Bi (Han Ye Ji)—as they navigate the highs and lows of becoming doctors and finding their place in society.
Unlike the seasoned professors of “Hospital Playlist,” these residents are still inexperienced, both in their medical skills and social interactions. Each day brings unpredictable challenges, filled with both criticism and encouragement as they struggle to improve. From tasks that feel impossible no matter how many times they try to navigating relationships with people they’ve never encountered before, their journey mirrors the early career struggles that many viewers can relate to.
A better narrative with new characters and multiple storylines
Centered around the obstetrics and gynecology department, the drama doesn’t just focus on doctors and nurses—it also highlights the experiences of expectant mothers, patients, and their families, creating a broad spectrum of relatable narratives.
Additionally, since Jongno Yulje Hospital shares the same foundation as Yulje Hospital in “Hospital Playlist,” connections to its characters will gradually be revealed, adding an extra layer of intrigue. Viewers are eager to see what will unfold at this different branch of Yulje Hospital.
The production team shared, “While we’ve kept the heartwarming, everyday stories that defined the original series, this spin-off adds a fresh perspective by focusing on the growth of residents. We believe it will offer a completely new kind of emotional connection, different from ‘Hospital Playlist.’”
THE IMPRESSIVE SOUNDTRACK LINE-UP
The poster features Stray Kids’ Lee Know, Seungmin, and I.N, as well as IVE’s Yujin, Doh Kyung Soo (D.O.), aespa’s Winter, TXT, SEVENTEEN’s DK, and (G)I-DLE’s Minnie. In addition to the prominent K-pop artists who will contribute to the OST, the poster also teases mysterious singers whose identities have yet to be revealed.
The production team commented later, saying, “To match the narrative of the youth starting fresh, we composed the OST lineup exclusively with young idols. The music, infused with the diverse personalities and emotions of the artists, is expected to enhance the viewers’ immersion in the story.”
