TVING is joining hands with Disney+ to make a full-scale entry into the Japanese market.

On November 4, TVING announced that it will form a strategic partnership with the global online video service (OTT) Disney+ and officially launch the TVING Collection within Disney+ Japan on November 5.
This is the first time that Disney+ has opened a section for a local OTT brand within its OTT platform in the Asia-Pacific region. Japan is one of the major markets for global OTTs, and Disney+ has established high trust and a strong fandom in the country using its strong brand power.
By combining Disney+'s global and local content with the popular K-content, Disney+ aims to develop a unique selling point, while TVING can minimize the risks of entering the local market and gain recognition as a leading platform for K-content.
Starting on November 5, the TVING Collection will sequentially release a lineup of popular content, ranging from TVING Originals to CJ ENM's hits. As TVING expands its global reach, it is expected that domestic creators and production companies will also gain greater momentum in their global expansion.
In line with its global expansion, TVING will simultaneously release its original series Dear X for the first time in a total of 19 countries, including South Korea, Japan, and the Asia-Pacific region. Based on the K-webtoon of the same name, which has gained popularity worldwide, the series is directed by Lee Eung Bok and stars Kim You Jung and Kim Young Dae.

TVING CEO Choi Joo Hee said, "Our partnership with Disney, which has a strong presence and long-standing history in Japan, is an opportunity to present TVING content to local viewers in the most effective way." "We will continue to showcase compelling K-content to more global audiences and strive to go beyond being number one domestically to become a global K-OTT platform."
