Confidence Queen gives a sneak peek into episode 1.

Confidence Queen follows three con artists — Yoon Yi Rang (Park Min Young), James (Park Hee Soon), Myung Gu Ho (Joo Jong Hyuk) — with different backgrounds who team up to seek revenge against villains of this era.

The teaser begins with Yoon Yi Rang (Park Min Young) aiming her gun and issuing a warning: “There’s only one way to win the game. Don’t be deceived by what you see right in front of you.”

Following scenes show the charismatic shaman Baek Hwa (Song Ji Hyo); Myung Gu Ho (Joo Jong Hyuk), adjusting his glasses while flashing a sharp gaze; James (Park Hee Soon), disguised as an old man dealing cards with a smile; and Yoon Yi Rang again, this time in hanbok with her hair in a traditional bun — the characters do not fall short of surprises.

When Baek Hwa, furious, spits out, “You vulgar wench of the lowest kind,” Yoon Yi Rang draws a sword and displays dazzling martial arts skills as she subdues her in a single strike.

Furthermore, as she descends on a paraglider and declares, “By having me, it turns into a truly spectacular ten-million-moviegoer blockbuster,” stacks of cash piled high on a table and bills spewing out of a counter pour down like money raining from the sky.

Next, Yoon Yi Rang, dressed as a flight attendant, says in a different setting, “Like that sea squirt that clung to its enemy and died,” evoking laughter. But soon after, when James appeared hospitalized with his limbs in casts, Myung Gu Ho tearfully asks, “What on earth happened that James ended up like this?” Yoon Yi Rang, flustered, confesses, “The plan was perfect,” admitting that things had gone awry. Then the scene shifts to a bloodied James and villain Jeon Tae Su (Jung Woong In) winking at him.

Meanwhile, Myung Gu Ho is startled to see Yoon Yi Rang collapse on the street, but moments later, after she tells him, “I’m as angry as you are, but this is too dangerous,” he is shown sitting unconscious beside her and being taken away somewhere. When Jeon Tae Su sneers, “What a convenient bit of timing,” Myung Gu Ho, with blood streaming from both nostrils, faces the threat of a gun being forced into his mouth. Horrified, Yoon Yi Rang shakes her head in fear, leaving viewers anticipating the charms of this fresh K-caper comedy.

The production team stated, “The Episode 1 teaser is a 30-second video showcasing a feast of story, acting, and spectacle,” adding, “The actual broadcast will be even more spectacular and entertaining than the teaser. You can look forward to it.”
