Park Eun Bin and Ong Seong Wu display friendship and rivalry in 'Spooky in Love' stills
We Are All Trying Here came to a close with a profound lingering impact, and to commemorate its successful conclusion, the production team released a special film poster.
We Are All Trying Here follows the journey of aspiring director Hwang Dong Man (Koo Kyo Hwan), who, being the only one who hasn't debuted among a group of accomplished friends, is driven to anguish and madness by envy and jealousy. The story centers on his and others' struggles as they try to find peace.
The K-drama stars Koo Kyo Hwan, Go Youn Jung, Oh Jung Se, Kang Mal Geum, and Park Hae Joon, among others.
Through the stories of characters living with anxiety, emptiness, and emotional scars, the drama delivered empathy and comfort, leaving behind a heavy message.
The poster captures the journeys of characters who have each lived while battling their own sense of worthlessness, unfolding like frames from a film. Even amid the emptiness of life, the traces of those who cried out, "I exist", leave behind a quiet resonance, once again pointing out the message the drama sought to convey.

Writer Park Hae Young sharply captured emotions that everyone carries deep inside but rarely dares to bring to the surface. Through the characters' dialogue, she wove in feelings such as anxiety, jealousy, and shame that linger even after achieving success. At the same time, she delivered a comforting message: that only by facing and examining one's emotions rather than turning away from them can a person avoid being consumed by them.
We Are All Trying Here went beyond being a simple healing drama, posing questions to an era in which people are constantly pressured to prove their worth. Through the message that a person's existence does not derive meaning solely from achieving something, but that existence is valuable in itself, the drama left a profound emotional impact. It also offered viewers warm comfort by suggesting that even a life that appears tragic up close can ultimately become a comedy one can laugh about.
In particular, the series emphasized the value of solidarity through the understanding that "I'm not the only one struggling." By showing that the process of understanding and embracing one another’s loneliness and emotional voids is ultimately what gives people the strength to keep living, the drama left a deep lingering resonance til the end.
Lead actor Koo Kyo Hwan shared, "As I read reviews from viewers whose faces I've never even seen, I suddenly felt, 'I exist there too.'" He added, "I hope this drama was able to offer even a brief moment of comfort to those somewhere out there who are fiercely battling their own sense of worthlessness."
We Are All Trying Here is streaming on Netflix.
